Carol Teixeira is from Brazil and she is one of the main voices in tantra today. She is a writer and philosopher, dedicated to the studying for over 20 years the body as an instrument for transcendence and self-knowledge.

In addition to her philosophical background, Carol is a Tantric priestess, with pilgrimages and studies in India, having passed through great Tantra masters in the West. For years she has been nurturing a strong relationship with Bhakti, based on her connection with the Vedic masters. A great devotee of Tantra, Carol continues not only as a teacher, but also as a great practitioner and eternal learner, understanding the importance of continuing to nourish herself with the medicine she teaches.

Dedicated entirely to rescuing individuals from their emotional repressions resulting from the distortions of patriarchal society, her mission is to empower bodies and hearts to expand and connect. She is the author of three books and she was, for many years, a sex columnist for famous brazilian magazines. She also had radio shows about the subject.

She was a TEDx speaker with the controversial talk “Empowerment needs to go through the vagina”. It integrates Western and Eastern philosophy in a contemporary approach of transcending the dualism of body and mind through the empowerment of the individual and its fearless relationship with emotions, the proposal of a mature ethics by self-possessed people who stray from patriarchal values, understanding the state of Tantra within a body that discovers itself as an instrument for transcendence.

She also conducts tantric retreats and immersions in the midst of nature for men and women alike who want to give a new meaning to the relationship with there bodies as instruments for transcendence getting closer to their living purposes through the understanding of subtlety and vulnerability as true power.

Shawn Roop carries the Mahamudra Tantra lineage as his primary transmission, alongside deep study of the Kagyu tradition, Rasa Tantra, and Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. There are over 1200 lineages of Tantra. His breadth of study across them means he can meet the Western mind where it actually is rather than where classical texts assume it should be.

His preparation extends well beyond Tantra itself. He has trained extensively in esoteric wisdom traditions, yogic and Buddhist philosophy, Zen, shamanic teachings from North America and Hawaii including Huna, and holds certifications as a hypnotherapist and master NLP practitioner. He has designed over 400 original classes and taught thousands more to students across the United States and beyond.

Shawn is also a real person who understands that humor is an essential part of a life well lived. He performs improv comedy in Wilmington, plays pickleball, loves good food, travel, and the kind of adventure that keeps learning alive. He brings all of that into the work.
